Doing Good...
At Watermelon Coffee, we’re driven by a simple belief – you can enjoy awesome coffee and do good at the same time.
We’re kickstarting careers for young people who aren’t in education or employment - helping them gain life-changing skills to thrive at work or start their own businesses.
We're working with the King’s Trust as our 2025 Charity Partner alongside the Global Skills Foundation.
In coming years, we're looking to establish our own programmes; today, we're delighted to be supporting these organisations to deliver real change towards our shared goals.

...Tasting Great
We're supported on our journey by world class roasters, James Gourmet Coffee, who believe in our mission and have helped us on every stage of the journey.
Our single-origin beans from Brazil and Colombia are carefully and ethically sourced – we can not just identify the farm, but the actual fields where our coffee was grown! Find our more here.
These beans are hand roasted to perfection in the UK, delivering exceptional flavour in every cup. You can order whole beans or grinds to suit your brewing kit – be it a cafetiere, AeroPress, V60 or Chemex!
Coffee Origins

Brazil
Our Brazilian Coffee comes from two sources – both led by entrepreurial women making a difference in Brazil:
Boa Vista do Anil - From the south of Minas Gerais, lies Mantiqueira de Minas, 82% of the farms are smallholders and much of the coffee is harvested and picked by hand. The whole Mantiqueira region only produces 1.37 million bags, from an area of 57,000 hectares. In this small pocket of Land, Emilia Ferraz Cruz produces Yellow Catuai, Yellow Bourbon and Red Catucai varieties from her 72 Hectare Farm, Boa Vista do Anil, about 1250m above sea level.
Donas do Café - From South Minas in Brazil, this coffee comes to us via 4 women who farm coffee, exceptionally. The Donas do Café project aims to exchange knowledge and contributes to the work of Cooxupé cooperative women. An initiative that brings the names of the producers to the forefront of their businesses and inserts it in the specialty coffee market. The local saying in Minas is “when a woman prospers, so does everything around her” – and we are delighted to contribute to this. -
Colombia
Our decaf coffee is a blend comprised of a group of small producers, who are working under a sustainability program. This system takes the risk out of the lows of the market and ensures enough is paid to the producer. Over the last 5 years, this has consistently doubled the income of the smallholder farmer families working with the project. The goal is to achieve stable and sustainable prices for community coffee lots through improved quality control, shared knowledge, and a connection to the specialty coffee market.
Green coffee from Red Association is taken to Decscafecol (a decaffeination plant in Manizales). Using volcanic spring water and the organic compound ethyl acetate (derived from fermenting sugar cane) locally produced in Valle de Cauca, coffee is steamed and placed in a solution of ethyl acetate until 97% of the caffeine in the coffee has been removed, and steam cleaned - removing all of the remaining organic compounds.
This decaffeinated coffee has ~30 parts of caffeine per million: a fraction of what you would find in a banana.
